Cruciamentum, meaning torture in Latin seemed a suitably sinister banner for which to form the band beneath. The aim of Cruciamentum was to play dark, claustrophobic death metal influenced by bands such as Incantation, Demigod, Abhorrence, Rottrevore, Necros Christos, Immolation, and Morbid Angel. Having existed since 2005, Cruciamentum finally solidified their line-up in late 2008 with original guitarist D.L. (ex-Imindain) taking over the recently vacated vocalist spot, joined by B.C. (Deceptor, and ex-Dark Forest) on bass and D.B-H. (Grave Miasma, Indesinence, and Adorior) on drums.
The band have just released their second demo Convocation of Crawling Chaos and are currently preparing to play live, and seeking a second guitarist to contribute to future material and bolster their live sound. Writing is also underway for a MLP which should be released towards the end of the year on Nuclear Winter Records.
