Cruelest people in history?

The Chibcha Indians. They were (and still are I think) a native American ethnic group in Colombia. They made a torture device that rips all the skin off of your head.

Whoever invented the "Pear" torture device. If you don't know what it is, you don't want to know.

and now I must find out...woa. Honestly, not all that disturbing.

Also, as far as Erzebet Bathory goes, it's not clear whether or not she really did that shit.
As far as Ghengis and Attila, they really didn't do anything that everybody else didn't do. They conquered, killing the men and raping the women. More or less standard practice, they just did it on a larger scale. Not so much cruelty as callousness. As far as Hitler and Stalin go, they weren't cruel either, just callous - I think that they honestly believed that they were acting in the best interests of their countries. Also, neither of them were personally involved in any of the atrocities committed under their regimes.

Vlad 3 The Impaler

Wikipedia said:
The atrocities made by Vlad in the German stories include impaling, torturing, burning, skinning, roasting, and boiling people, feeding people human flesh (their friends or relatives), cutting off limbs, drowning and nailing of hats to the heads of people. His victims included men and women of all ages, religions and social classes, children and babies.

Well, to be fair we did fuck up his thread...

there was some medieval guy who killed some dude by sticking a tube up his ass and then putting a hot coal up it until it ruptured his bowels or something so that there'd be no sign of foul play.
Can't remember who, though.

Also, Gilles de Rais.

And Jeffery Dahmer, Ed Gein, Albert Fish, etc...

According to my brothers Liberian friend they stick a lime up your ass if you steal in Liberia. I guess the citric acid burns or something. And if you're gay they put tires around you and light them on fire.
