CRYPTOPSY great guitar/bass footage

used to be one of my fav death metal bands and I even bough flo's instructional dvd but their last efford was kinda meh.
thanks for the videos.

oh and the fact eric langois isn't with the band anymore is a pity.

I posted the Serial Messiah playthrough a couple of weeks ago and no-one replied :(
I tabbed most of it out, then was going to try and tab to solo, but that lick that he plays after he plays that arpeggio for the second time (1:50ish) just threw me off completely and I cannot figure out what the fuck he is doing.
If anyone can figure that out it would be much appreciated!

i searched for recent threads with "cryptopsy" in the thread name before posting this and found nothing

I just watched a recent music video... are they fucking deathcore now?

The last album was "controversial". I'm not into "modern" deathcore but i dug that album for the most part, despite the awful production (esp. the drums).

The mid-era albums (TWS / ATYB / the live album) are death metal masterpieces with crushing production and a nice hardcore touch to it (Mike Di Salvo !!!), so i find the "are they fucking deathcore now ?" thing kind of funny and ironic :)

The new album could slay. Very curious to hear it.

Let's just say that Morbid Angel's latest record wasn't without precedent.
Jon didn't write any of the music for it, but he's back on board now, so fingers crossed.

Didn't type Cryptopsy anywhere so fair enough!

DiSalvo's vocals stop me from listening to anything post NSV anywhere near as much as I would like to.

Too bad we can't rename threads...

I liked the Deftonish riffs on the last two Cryptopsy albums btw. And i don't mind death metal bands introducing "blasphemous" stuff such as clean vocals, electronic bands, AS LONG AS IT'S WELL DONE AND THE REST OF THE MATERIAL IS GOOD, which is the whole problem :)

This is one of the only songs I can think of that fuse clean singing into a death metal song without it seeming forced or out of place:

Héhé i had forgotten about that one, but then again that album is special and ventures in all kinds of directions/influences, from heavy metal a la Iron Maiden to moshing hardcore :)

Fuck i wanna listen back to it now :)

thanks for the vids!
crytopsy used to be one of my fav band many years ago.. None so Vile, Blasphemy Made Flesh, Whisper Supremacy.....

Their new bass player is a buddy of mine and he told me that the new album is kind of a follow up to Whisper Supremacy with bits of None so Vile and Blasphemy Made Flesh. A 33 minutes blast fest. I guess we'll just wait and see.
