Currently testing a new tool

I downloaded the trial version of DrMS from Mathew Lane. I think it's pretty cool.

Here some versions of a mix for a demo I did for a young band:

Wow nice find! Absolutely the first mid-side tool that got me this curious. gonna try the trial too :}
On those demos I found on their site I really loved those depth options etc. Also the widening seemed
more musical to me than most plugs I´ve tried. Stopped using widening tools because of the side effects.
Liked the mid effects though! sorry, couldn´t resist.. but anyway this tool got me interested to give that kind of processing
another chance. So thanks for this post and demonstration!

I liked the balance in your mix! Loved how the toms seemed to belong to the same kit as the kick, many times they sound like
completely from another galaxy. Can I ask you where you got your samples? :} The toms were cool how they sounded fat and they
popped out through everything else without having them way too loud in the mix, kind of hard thing to achieve imo. I might have spread them just a tad more but
yeah who cares :}

Glad you guys find this quick test usefull I used the plugin for the mastering too for the final product and it gives a nice 3D to the ensemble. It has to be VERY subtle tho but I'll give a try with it in the master buss at the mixing stage to check how it affects the mix.

Can I ask you where you got your samples? :} The toms were cool how they sounded fat and they
popped out through everything else without having them way too loud in the mix, kind of hard thing to achieve imo.

As for the samples, the toms are from a nice Tama Superstar kit (Evans G2 drumheads + ATM450 on them), the kick is also one of my personal samples + one shot sample (Mapex I think) I don't remember where it's from tbh :/ and the snare is several samples blended together including a really cool Ludwig Black Beauty I bought somewhere.
