After Cyhra won over their fans with the celebrated “Superman” single at the beginning of the year, the quintet are now releasing new music. “Skin From Bones” is their second release on their label, Reigning Phoenix Music, and shows the internationally established band from a somewhat unusual musical angle. Mixed by guitarist Euge Valovirta, the new track was once again mastered by sound expert Maor Appelbaum and provided with the appropriate artwork by artist Gustavo Sazes. “Skin From Bones” is an unfiltered expression of liberation from the lies we tell ourselves and any burdens we carry around with us, because only when we let go of all pain and misconceptions can we recognize and truly benefit from our inner strength.
Musically, Cyhra have packaged this story in thunderous riffs led by a catchy keyboard melody, which initially makes the single take a “usual” course. But Cyhra wouldn’t be Cyhra if they didn’t know how to surprise musically from time to time: among other things, the band has incorporated a rapped crossover verse into the track, which presents Jake E’s voice from a completely new angle. Explosive breakdowns also shake up the audience in the bridge and at the same time underline the thematic importance of ‘Skin From Bones’.
Jake E: “Our second new single is a bold step into heavier territory for Cyhra, although we don’t leave out the melodies and catchy choruses that characterize our sound. In terms of content, themes such as robustness and self-exploration meet raw intensity and sincere emotional worlds. We are constantly evolving as a band, which is why ‘Skin From Bones’ is the best example of how we are conquering new musical territories without neglecting our roots.”
