Actually, here might be your chance to prove you are something else than just a moron who downloaded the album illegally beforehand - do write a review. Write it in a way that is both interesting and informative, exciting and analytical, surprising and truthful, yet not too banal - and I just might forgive your foul attitude towards Siren.

Let's see if you can make it. Remember to use a subject along the lines of "Damage Done pre-review by KamelotGuardian".

i still think it'd be better if it wasn't posted here if the promos are not being mailed out to zines yet.

@kamelotguardian: do i have any chance of being called an ass if i ask you kindly? :p

@everyone: could you please stop this bubu? i have said it before and i will say it again: we KNOW that DD is available. we KNOW that we want to hear it. we KNOW that people on this board will be buying one or more copies of the original product. we KNOW that we all support the band and pay good money for shows. so please stop being all pc over this pre-release thing.

damn, i'm possibly one of the most hardcore bad religion fans in the whole universe, i spent loads of cash to follow half of their european tour in february, i have everything i could find by them including silly singles made for cash only... still i downloaded their new album the moment it came online, gave it to rahvin, discussed it on mailing lists and forums. of course i have an original copy now and rahvin has one - i don't feel guilty the minimum.

@hyena: ok, i shall say it once more for your own viewing pleasure. all of this has nothing to do with the reason we like it better if dd reviews and comments stay out of this board for a while. now if you think you get it i won't indulge on further explanations, but if you plan to go on telling us how terribly pc is criticizing dloading dd, please at least notice that we're not.

rahvin.

i do NOT get it. but maybe the answer is in some other thread i did not check. i will try to find it and should i not succeed i will ask again, politely.

hyena (let me go just one more time)

possibly all those threads were deleted.

the point is that debating dd as of now here means two things:
1. a lot of not-so-die-hard fans of the band might just pass by and get a hint of where to find for easy dload the whole (well, almost) new release. while this might not be bad per se, dloading mp3s without authorization is surely something that - on general principles - the band would frown upon because it increases the chances of some loss in terms of sales. so i would personally find... unpleasant to make great big signs about it in a band's very home.
2. along the same lines, discussions about dd before its release date tend to imply the ppl here is behaving in a way that might disadvantage the band. i just object to this, the official board, being the place to do anything else but perfectly licit and approved-by-the-band activities (this of course does not imply avoiding criticism and the occasional bloody murder ;) ). i think it is a form of respect towards both the place and the effort the band makes to produce quality music. dt didn't explicitly allowed mp3s to go about freely on p2p software or audiogalaxy and we know for a fact that it might be rather unpleasant to see your work unexpectedly in the hands of everyone so soon. so my reason for waiting a while to mention this topic might be compared to visiting an unexpectedly ill relative and spending a few hours with him/her without mentioning the disease (uh, what a brilliant, stimulating metaphor  ). of course it's not the end of the world if this happens, but it really takes so little to just discuss it at will elsewhere that i just don't get why so many ppl get upset at a kind request of avoiding the issue for now.

and if that thread stays longer than we've come to expect, i guess this is my point. :)

rahvin.

damnit by the time im out of college I will know as many big words Rahvin, I SWEAR  :p

ok, this threads been tainted with the "discuss the bad thing bout having DD discussions", it obviously must be put to sleep, or injected with poison, either that or give it cyanide pills.

Final_Vision (killing threads left and right)

@phyre: I surely won't :)

Indeed, I hope that promos are spread asap and also hope that links to webpages with reviews start to appear very soon on the board :)

These words could have been mine... But then Rahvin, OK, you've got a point there too...

I for one, don't want to read any opinions or hear any reviews on the album before it's in my hands. I want to avoid any biases, and experience the album completely on its own, just as I did with Projector. I'll be very upset if I see mentions on the quality of DD on threads that aren't clearly titled "DD discussion" or something, before the record's official release.
