It's been confirmed that this was just a work in progress version of the front cover that was used on a promo flyer for the album and Deliverance Tour, and the one OpethPat has posted is the final official version.

Hmm, over 10,000 people have viewed my scan since I put it online (some people are even using it as their avatar),
perhaps I should write over it in big letter "This Isn't The Official Cover"
