I've always loved this song, and I know many people wont like this cover because its not metal, but it really shows you how well written the song is.

I think this version kicks ass.

Thanks for sharing this - I couldn't agree more - a great song transcends musical styles. I especially liked the orchestral touches that were added in this arrangement.

Personally, I think a lot, if not most, of Maiden's songs would translate well into many other styles. Even though many of us here love this music for the way we know it best - the truth is that the lyrics and the melodies are so strong they stand on their own merit as well.

Someone this last weekend @ one of the Iron Maidens shows gave my the Damones cd "Out Here All Night" I thought it was pretty damn good. The Wasted Years cover surprised me & I actually think they did a great job with their take on it, without ruining the song.

Whoever gave me this cd...THANKS!
