Dan McCafferty has passed away.

Nazareth is an essential hard rock band. I can't conceive someone not knowing at least 2-3 Nazareth songs.

Even if Dan departed the band some time ago, he'll always be the voice of the band.

Sad indeed for me as they are one of my all-time favorite bands.

I exist and I'm not sure I knew anything from them other than their version of Love Hurts. If I'd discovered them 20 years ago when I was first discovering a lot of older music I would've developed a connection to them. Now though, I'm aware of way too much other stuff I need to check out already.

I must admit that I was guilty of only knowing the staples but when I saw them at BB King's in NYC years ago I was blown away by how good the band was. This might have been their last time playing my region and I was glad to have recorded a couple of songs for the YouTube when such practice was more common. I've linked one below for all to enjoy and remember Dan.
