There's another band I think of called "destiny's end". I am not sure if they are powermetal, I think I've heard that they were and one of their CD-Covers seems to be very dark...maybe I'm wrong, anyone knows this band?

DE is power you can bet on that. "Breathe Deep The Dark is a masterwork of US powermetal with great riffing and a bit dark sense. Not as dark as Evergrey though. Their new Album "Transition" is more straight forward power metal.
So all in all: DE is power metal is dark in their first effort especiall and check them out.
And of course James Rivera on the vox is Execution Guarranteed.
