DARK SKY sign with PURE LEGEND RECORDS / PURE STEEL RECORDS

We are proud to announce that German Melodic Metallers DARK SKY signed a new, world-wide, record deal with PURE LEGEND RECORDS / PURE STEEL RECORDS.
A spokesman of the band: “We are very excited about the new deal and can’t wait to let the album see the light of day. The label is really enthusiastic about the new album and we believe that they will push us to the next level.

“Initium”, which again was produced by Markus Teske (SAGA, VANDEN PLAS, MOB RULES, RED CIRCUIT ....) in the Bazement Studios in Hünstetten/Germany, will be released in October by PURE ROCK, a division of PURE STEEL RECORDS. The album features guest performances by Hannes Braun(vocals) and Ande Braun (guitars) from KISSIN’ DYNAMITE as well as some guestvocals from MOB RULES singer Klaus Dirks.

DARK SKY "Initium" - cover, track list, release date: October 19, 2012

Pure Legend Records has signed DARK SKY from Southern Germany, a band that was formed in 1982. At first they were a real hard-rock-band and released two demos before they split up in 1992. One year later, the band reformed and have released four studio-albums since then:

“Believe it” (2000), “Edge of Time” (2002), “Living & Dying” (2005) and “Empty Faces” (2008). But nevertheless, DARK SKY seem to have been a bit of an insider tip until now.

Their new album “Initium” is now intended to help them make a breakthrough. The album has a playing-time of 56 minutes and offers European power-metal that sounds rather modern but is still rooted in melodic hard-rock. The always present keyboards are played fantastically, suit the songs perfectly, and don’t sound at all like Italian symphonic-metal. The guitars remind you a bit of later HELLOWEEN songs. The melodic, but also a bit rough vocals of Frank Breuninger sound like some talented AOR-/melodic-metal-singers.

The album’s production is very powerful, so that “Initium” is a must-have for fans of this genre.
