Darkane's new singer....

I know Jens wasn't super well received on "Demonic Art" but I chalk that up to production b/c he is an incredible live vocalist (and a super nice guy). Actually that whole band is just a bunch of nice humble guys who happen to be monstrous players. I'm sure this next record will be awesome.

great! Always a fan of lawrence's vocals. I agree that the production of Demonic Art probably didnt help Jens but I did think the vocal layering was really nice.

This new album will slay. Enough said.

But damn, he's gained some weight. Must have been hanging out with John Petrucci. lol

LOL, this is so obviously not a rehearsal recording but them playing to a backing track. Last time I checked, one needed microphones to record drums ... :D

Unless he's triggering everything. If I'm not mistaking, I don't see any cabs mic'd up either. I'd assume that they are triggering drums, running guitars through some sort of interface like pod or axefx, and recording/monitoring directly from the board. That is, IF this is really live rehearsal footage. Otherwise, yes, I would come to the same conclusion that they ended up throwing down a rehearsal track and then just played along with it on video.

There is the possibility mics are INSIDE the drum. Everything is probally being recorded through their monitoring system.

They have a monitoring system which gives them all a personal in-ear mix. The guitars over their inear monitors are coming from a Behringer v-amp, yet the line is splitted to amps+cab for live usage. And possibly this is an in-ear mix we're hearing they recorded on their monitoring system.

There are some cymbal hits at around 4:20 which are clearly audible, but not visible :D while you can see both of his drumsticks not hitting any cymbals. So I'd guess it's an overdub (is that the right term?). Anyway, pretty cool.
