I tried to enter the world of djent..
The tools were Amplitube2 and a TS9.

It's just some Meshuggah riffs, most of them not exactly played as they are "supposed" to.. I was bored

The stomp EQ does a lot here, and so does the real tubescreamer

fuge86: Thanks! Yup, an Ibanez RG7620 tuned to B. I think you can get a much djentier tone if you use thinner strings, I'm using a 0.62 on the low B-string

The bass is a pitch shifted clean guitar with the Warp vst plugin Two tracks of bass (just copied), one clean for the subs and one gritty for the highs and mids.

yeah not a natural sound, but still cool nonetheless. I dig it.

I'm still impressed at how good you and bulb get the pitch shifted guitar for bass thing sounding. I'm gonna try the same thing but running it through amplitude svx and seeing what it's like. heh.

the warp thing your talking about is what comes with fruity loops, right? or atleast originally came with fruity loops

I own a xt. It might sound great on recordings but there's often some serious eq:ing on them, atleast on my songs, can't speak for everyone else unfortunately...
