De facto drum mics?

Greetings Andy,

Thanks for being here to enlighten us all about sound engineering and other matters

In your opinion, what are the de facto mics for recording drums? Kicks, snare, toms, overheads... I've heard a few people mention they like using Sennheiser 421s on kicks and toms, which is interesting because I thought those particular mics were mostly used for guitar cabs.

I'm interested to hear your take, regardless of mic cost or availability.

421 on toms or Beta 98s, RE 20 on floor tom, KM 184s on OH, ATM 25 on kick, SM 57 on snare top, 441 on snare bottom.

ditto. I might at that a lota of people are using ATM 25s on toms, and I've even read about using them on snare and guitar.
