I think I queued this once before, when I first got turned on to this style of music, hated the production, decided the album was over-hyped because of all that transpired previous to it, and never thought to go back to it.

EDIT: OK... finished listening. Unfortunately, it's impossible for me to place this in its appropriate context. I'm familiar with that which came after it, was influenced by it, but ultimately built upon it. I can't put my brain back into 1993 and listen to this when it was groundbreaking. Consequently, it does little for me. If I simply listen to this, for what is to me (new material), it sounds like a solid, but ultimately unspectacular collection of songs.

Regardless of everything else (and everything else is MONUMENTAL but still), this is the best album ever. The best collection of the best songs in the best order. It grabs hold of the soul like nothing else and draws you towards the freezing moon.
