Its very good, better than their previous one. Still its very tool-ish, but different, has some really deep compositions, many interesting and "new" for the band parts, and again Buddy's voice that melts your heart. Unfortunately it seems that the band wont release something better than "A Murder Of Crows".

Yeah, I couldn't get into the others. I absolutely LOVE Murder of Crows though. I'll take your guys word for it and check it out...if The End gets their shit together for me.

It's very similar to their previous CDs, but not so similar that it sound rehashed (like "The January Tree"). This disc does contain their best song to date, "To my Beloved".

I've heard half of it so far, very much a continuation of the last two albums, which is fine with me as Murder of Crows ruled and January Tree was every bit as solid. Don't You Ever Hurt and Fistful Of Bended Nails are early favorites.

i really liked a murder of crows the first few times i heard it. then i gave the promo away. bought it used a year or two later. it did nothing for me. sold it.

I will say once again that all those who like DST, M-U-S-T check Psychotic Waltz's "Bleeding" (im saying this album because its closer to DST's music than the other PW albums). Its like 2342325646245656 times better than anything DST created, and pretty catchy for its genre.

Listened to this album last night....
NAD, this one may interest you somewhat. I agree with IoftheStorm's reference to Tool -- man, this album is like a composite of Tool's Aenima with the vibe of Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir", and altogether very middle-eastern/gritty....Murder of Crows on the other hand was a bit more of a polished studio effort. I dunno, this one is more 'earthy' and I bet would interest you a lot.
It does trail off towards the end though, it might have been better if it were an EP.
Amazing - put the words "sweet Mary" into a song and Zod crumbles.
I bought some Psychotic Waltz at ProgPower, I think I'll check it out soon.

I don't think "The Dead Word" is as strong as the last two albums... there are a few standout tracks... and Adel provides some great percussion as always... but a few tracks just don't do it for me. Still... a worthy purchase.
As for Psychotic Waltz... I think "Mosquito" is by far their best album and still sounds fresh today.

I need to revisit PW at some point. At one time, I had their whole catalog on MP3. Not sure if I still do. I recall I spun something up, listened to it with half an ear, and then never listened to it again.IOfTheStorm said:
