I was thinking of getting a Dean ML 79f and i wondered what peoples general opinions of them are. Considering i've got stuff that in name trounces it.
Its £300 and i've been wanting one for about a year, half because i think they look awesome and half because it has a trem, or the one i was gonna get.

So yeh.

Oh and half because its like Dimebag init. :D

STAY THE FUCKING CUNTING SHTTING BASTADING FUCK AWAY

Seriously, Dean MLs are some of the worst fucking guitars I've ever fucking played. Just because something has Dime's name slapped all over it and has a trem doesn't mean its goodby any means - they're clunky to play, the necks are unbearable, and most o the time the tone is so fucking bad it gaves people lukemia. You're better off backing away (preferably whilst pointing a handgun at an ML and shouting 'STAY THE FUCK BACK') and getting a Jackon because - wait for it - they're infinitely better than almost any Dean guitar money can buy.

Seriously, fuck Dean and fuck Dean ML guitars. They almost make BC Rich look good.

Dont know about MLs. My Razorback V plays great though. If your starting out Im sure an ML isnt that bad a guitar, although maybe you could get something better for 300 quid.

I'd stay away from the cheaper Deans as they have poor build quality. One of the guitarists in my band has one of the cheaper Dean MLs and the A string spontaneously gets snapped off by the bridge all the bloody time. Both the guitarists in my band use Deans and I don't think the tones are that great. Check out my band's myspace in my sig, as the guitars on the recordings on there were recorded with Dean MLs.

And another mate of mine keeps always going on about how awful Deans are.

However, they do look pretty badass...

Yeh it sort of is i think, i'll wait and look into it more. Anything good you guys can recommend with a trem?

Jackson, good trem, fast necks, strong build, damn good tone, it even applies to the lower end Rhoads. If you don't like the tone, it's always adjustable, costly, but adjustable.

then why does Dave Mustaine endorse them? I'm sure Jackson would be happy to have him back.

Has nothing to do with the guitars themselves. It's all business. Dave's expectations were unreasonable and Dean threw money and guitars at him.

I've never played a Dean myself, but you can't go wrong with a Jackson / Charvel. I've yet to run into a bad one.

I bought a KV2 and fucking hated it, so your best shot is to go to a store, try shit out and get whatever feels and sounds best.
