Here we go again...If Warrel and Geoff Tate (Queensryche) were put into a ring to belt out their best vocally and physically, who would be victorious? OR, would King Diamond rip off his oh so clever referee disguise and deafen them both to the point of cranial explosion?

Here's how it would go down.
Warrel and Geoff would start out the fight with some showing of their abilities. The fight woud be about to begin, but before it can, Osama Bin Laden would walk in with his cane and AK-47, and say something about the American scum dying, but before he could lift up his gun, Warrel and Geoff would smoke his stupid ass, beat him to within and inch of his life then finish him off with a rusty nail to the head.

Everyone is gonna rip me a new one, but I can't stand Geoff Tate's vocals. He's the only reason I haven't gotten into Queensryche. So, Warrel, hands-down.

I love Warrel. He is a phenomenal vocalist. However, if we are talking about the Warning/Rage/Operation era Geoff Tate, then it's Geoff by a fairly comfortable margin. If you asked Warrel, he'd probably tell you the same thing. As far as pure vocal ability, no one has ever been Tate's equal.

Few days ago I heard "Live evolution" the latest live by queensryche. It was good but Geoff is not as good as he used to be.
On the other hand I think that Warrel is playing with us on the matter of vocaling abilities. The dude sings so perfectly strange, hoctaves, scales up and down, few but very good high piched voices, various changes in his feelings given in his way of singing. It has always been my strong belief that WD is the best there is and has ever been in metal or anywhere else.
Geoff is the master of his kind, whereas Warrel is the student. The best student there can ever be. The one who surpassed the teacher.
So Warrel is the man on the music part of this fight (difficult decision, I must admit).
As for the physical part, well Geoff is older so that is a dissadvantage for him. Warrel looks more nasty too. Well if King Diamond lets this fight be fair, then I 'd bet on Warrel. Again you can never be sure with these things...

Hey hey hey, calm down now. I didn't say it in a Warrel and Geoff Tate love America sort of way, but simply because I was thinking about how funny it would be if Bin Laden was captured alive and then squeezed for all the info he had, and then executed on live television...FOX style! "When good terrorists go bad!"
So, that's what was on my head, so I just decided to write about it in context to the post I was reading. I'm not fucking stupid and naive enough to think Warrel(and Geoff) love America because they sure as hell don't(at least Warrel, don't know much about Geoff and Queensryche)
Here's a question, do you think Warrel votes?
as far as vocal technique, projection, etc.......no one compares to Tate. he is honestly the be-all end-all for clean-toned tenor vocals.
whether or not you like his voice more than Warrel's, or vice versa, is completely subjective. but Tate's technique is several levels beyond almost anyone elses in the metal world.

as much as warrel talks about the system and changes, and as educated as he seems to be, i sure hope he votes.
I would say Geoff is better by far than Warrel nowadays!! All of us can see the huge improvement in Warrel's vocals though throughout the years and albums but drinking and smoking definitely don't do good for his voice at all!! Anyway I love both of them very much and I would even say that they are incomparable but if I gotta choose the better vocalist from the two of them, I would definitely vote for Geoff!

They sing differently, I cannot compare them. It would be easier for me to compare Dickinson with Halford.

I think in that interview he said also, that he would like to leave USA and come and live in Europe. He doesn't wish to live in a country where you are not allowed to cross the street with a beer in the hand!
