i dig this more than sylosis too, but theres something sorely missing from this
Filthy, spastic grooved out riffs.
morbid angel have some of the most ridiculous shit going on during their 90's material, like truly weird avant-garde solos and crazy riffs n stuff
this is cool already, but for me when i listen to death metal im always waiting for THAT riff to come in and take my face off, this is all hovering around 90% intensity but if there was some more weird groovy shit in there it'd go up to 100%.

I know exactly what your getting at.
im not really fussed. if you like death metal a lot then you're bound to prefer it to sylosis.
the songs nothing special to me, just a bit of fun for me to do when i get in a writing rut with sylosis stuff.
it was written in a few hours, write a riff, record it properly, program some drums, then onto the next riff etc.
lyrics were written as i recorded, there's probably one line where i just mumble some crap, it was just a mess around.
guitars - 4 tracks, all revalver. 2 through the ACM with one of the sneapy impulses off this board and 2 through the XXX.
bass - revalver basic thing
drums - SD2.0
basic stuff, all done with cubase 4 plugins

the whole song was just so i could mess around and record some death vocals. the only reason the song is called 'denounced and dethroned' is so i could try and rip off frank from suffocation n use loads of words that start with 'DDEEEE'

Dude - the Sylosis stuff kills this in every imaginable way (yeah - I'm a Sylosis fanboy...). But I will say that if I could knock something out in a few hours that sounded this badass, I'd be sleeping a lot more soundly at night!
Great track - keep it up dude. Nothing wrong with expanding into a brief side-project to get out of a writing rut...

my fave death metal is early morbid angel, cannibal corpse etc. all the stuff in E or Eb.
even if you try and play more modern stuff, tuning higher always seems to have a more 'classic' feel which i like

Vocals remind me of a mix of Frank Mullen and Glenn Benton (and also a bit of Johnny Davy from JFAC/Fleshrot).
Song is very cool, especially considering how fast you wrote/recorded it. I prefer this stuff than Sylosis also, not because i prefer DM (i love DM but it's not my favourite genre or anything) but because Sylsis just doesn't do it for me.
