why do most people not like Decapitated ...

Nihility is fucking great!!! Clinical, razor sharp, brutal, catchy, all that ... and unique.
the Negation almost sounds rushed and feels like Earache could have had a hand in steering their ship in a more accessible, by DM standards at least, direction.

BTW ... here is a new track with the new singer ... A Poem about an Old Prison

of course ... have it ...

unfortunatelly got it after Nihility ... and Nihility has left such an impression on me already.

going backwards in their catalog is difficult

Usually, yeah. I just think that they have gotten progressively worse with each consecutive release. I do enjoy Nihilty, by the way. However, not The Negation.

The Negation just sounded lazy and amost one dimensional ... especially after the complex rifferama of Nihility.

Did you guys listen to the track above? ... so far so good ... sounds like they are going back to some crazier arrangements. The drums are great as well.

The new singer is great live ... much better than Sauron was.

I liked Sauron on Nihility as I am a sucker for funny accents in DM, like Max in early Sepultura, ... but Sauron was really cookie monster style ... this Covan dude seems to give them a nice edge ... a great frontman is hard to beat and find !!!

really all three discs are good in certain ways ... and vogg is undeniably a boy wonder.

if anything, and just because I just revisited some tracks of WOC, the new track is more in that early direction with some cleaner vocals.

NIHILITY: MACHINE-LIKE, CLINIC, FULL OF EXCELLENT RIFFS, BRUTAL, TECHNICAL-BUT-WITH-SEVERAL-GROOVY-HEADBANGING-MOMENTS-ISH. BEST DM RECORD EVER TOGETHER WITH "BLASPHEMY MADE FLESH"

The Negation: Rather boring and lifeless for the most part. A couple of songs are pretty good, but the record itself is still a major disappointment. They dumbed down their style and sound on this one, kinda like the way Aborted tried to appeal to a bigger audience with the release of 2005's "The Archaic Abbatoir".

Winds Of Creation: KICKASS SHIT, groovy as feck, riffgastic, but it lacks Nihility's INFINITE REPLAYABILITY FACTOR.

Nihility's INFINITE REPLAYABILITY FACTOR.

this is soo true ...

this disc was the best find ever after searching for something that can even get close to Reign in Blood as far as becoming a modern day classic.
