These are currently on my Flying V, they need to go!
A few words come to mind, useless, un reliable, shit.....why the hell do they still put these machine heads on their guitars!

Im looking for some decent heavy duty tuners, ones that arent made of plastic!
that will keep my Flying V in tune for longer than 5 mins! lol

This being the 1st time ive ever opted for different machine heads
I have no idea if i need a specific size etc....

any suggestions chaps?

I have the Grover locking Rotomatics (the Schaller style, not the weird design where you unscrew the top of the post...I hated those) in my Les Paul and they work pretty well.

I had Grover locking tuners on my Flying V, and they worked great! Way better than the stock Kluson crap-o-matics. I think Kluson's company slogan is, "Kluson. We'll get you in the ballpark."

Agreed on the sperzels. Got them on my Les Paul and Jackson King V and couldn't be happier.

the first thing i've done since 1996 or so when buying a new guitar is immediatly put Grovers on it! I can let a guitar sit in it's case for months without touching it and it's still in tune when I pull it out again.

I'm 99% sure that the regular sperzels are called "trim-lok". Although they don't trim, they just lock, haha.
