Deftones Chino Moreno CROSSES stems now available!

Pretty cool. I may have a shot at this. But, if these are processed, it sort of takes the fun out of it. Do you guys normally "re-process" this sort of thing? I really need to get more into doing these mixing practices....

Well they give you the bpm so theoretically you could keep say, just one element like Chino's vox and completely change/redo the rest of it (which, soon enough on Youtube there'll be plenty). Yeah I agree with you though, could be a more ideal situation with unprocessed wav files.

Thanks for the heads up, because I have been jamming this alot lately and wanted to mess with doing some different versions of some of these songs.

Given these and other similar stems around are pre processed they won't take kindly to any more individual processing, IMHO.

What they are great for, however is getting a true insight into the mix engineers' input before the mastering process.
Being able to solo and listen to individual tracks is like a peak inside pandora's box, although I think each stem is maximised and level/pan adjusting is crucial.
I try to recreate the balance of the original mix and then I am left with an un mastered mix to mixdown and master myself while trying to emulate the original master. Its a great way to practise your mastering skills.

Already got a basic heavy rock idea for This is a Trick. Guitar might be a little out of tune but these strings are getting on and I just used the tuning I was in instead of doing whatever they use. Everything but the vox I cut out and did my own thing. Didnt have much time to do this but I'll try to hook up some new strings and do this proper asap. I just love Chino's vocals on this ep.

Fun to mess with other people's songs heh.
