Deftones?

They're typically placed in the nu-metal genre, but IMO that's not giving them enough credit. I like them, particularly the White Pony album

any thoughts on them?

I like em too, but actually you can't catagorize them in any genre, they should have a genre of their own

Then I guess Nu-metal is a very large genre, cuz ppl call Linkin Park also nu-metal. And they don't sound a bit like deftones

One of my favourite bands, I also love Team Sleep.
Can´t wait for the new album. My personal favourite is probably White Pony, but they don´t have bad album.

Yeah, love the Deftones, personally Around The Fur is my favourite, followed by Adrenaline.
As for their catagory, they get lumped in with nu-metal cos they came out at the same time as a lot of other nu-metal acts and didn't fit in to any other catagories of metal. However, I don't think that really does them justice as they are a lot more original most other nu-metal bands.
Also, love Team Sleep, although I do tend to find that the songs tend to merge into one after a while. Good music to have playing quietly in the background to relax to, I find.
