DELAIN Is Three-Quarters Done Recording New Album

DELAIN frontwoman Charlotte Wessels has confirmed that the band is putting the finishing touches on its new album for an early 2020 release. "We are recording," she told Metal Wani at the U.K.'s Download festival (hear audio below). "This whole [summer] festival season for us is recording, performing, recording, performing, recording, performing. And it's kind of peak time now. I think we've got three-quarters of it done. But in the fall, we're going on tour a lot, so we've got to take that into account. So let's say I hope that by the time we hit the U.K. in February [2020] that there'll be a new album." DELAIN's latest release was "Hunter's Moon", which came out in February via Napalm Records. The effort consisted of new studio tracks accompanied by a live Blu-ray from the band's sold-out "Danse Macabre" 2017 European tour. "Hunter's Moon" is the final in the trilogy, and follows on from DELAIN's EP "Lunar Prelude" and the full-length album "Moonbathers". Last week, guitarist Merel Bechtold announced that she was leaving DELAIN to focus on different musical ambitions. Her final performance with DELAIN took place on June 23 at the Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium.
