Corruption, the aggressive-progressive metal juggernaut founded by former Denner/Shermann and Demonica bassist Marc Grabowski, ruled the Denver music scene during the 90s and 00s, and is now back to shake the foundations of the genre.
The band’s new lineup, consisting of Grabowski (Denner/Shermann, Demonica, Martriden, Cephalic Carnage) as bassist and lead vocalist, longtime guitarists George Glasco (The Quiet Room) and Sean Beeson, and newcomer Ryan Ball on drums, are poised to make their thunderous return on June 28 in Denver, Colorado.
The band will deliver a high-octane setlist featuring fan favorites and epic masterpieces from their deep catalogue spanning decades. Known for their intricate hooky riffs, elaborate arrangements, and raw emotional power, it was their infamous string of crazy sold out shows and unforgettable charismatic stage performances that cemented Corruption’s legacy.
Originally planning their reboot for 2024, the band was devastated by the death of longtime drummer Nick Studen, whose impact was profound, appearing along with Grabowski on all Corruption studio releases. Derailed and heartbroken, the remaining members gathered and reflected on their shared history together and concluded that Nick would have wanted them to keep Corruption’s music alive.
After months of auditions, Ryan Ball emerged as the right fit. “We were blown away when Ryan came in and crushed it from beat one. But it was his respect for our loss and dedication to honor Nick’s masterful drumming that won our hearts. We are thrilled to welcome Ryan into our band and pleased to introduce him as the new drummer for Corruption.”
Now locked in and reloaded, they’re eager to reignite that fire for a new generation of metalheads. “We can’t wait to reconnect with familiar faces, and welcome new fans who are ready to ‘embrace the madness’ with us for years to come,” Grabowski said.
Corruption isn’t just revisiting the past. The band is hard at work on new material that promises to push the boundaries of their unique sound even further. “We’re crafting next level songs that will completely blow everyone’s minds,” added Grabowski. “This momentous comeback show is just the beginning. It’s more than just a reboot, it’s a rebirth. A modern rethinking of Corruption from the ground up.”
Join Corruption, along with Dallas thrash legends Gammacide, on Saturday, June 28 at The Rickhouse Performance & Event Venue for an unforgettable night of head-banging classics and the promise of a bold new era.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday May 6 and are likely to sell out quickly for this special event. For ticket info and updates, follow the band here, or email the band directly at corruption.is.back@gmail.com.
