has anyone seen dethklok? its a 15 minuete animated bit about this norwiegan/american black metal band based in norway on the arctic circle.....they apparantly know only how to play metal and are bigger than the beatles. its a pretty funny show its on 11:45 sunday nights on cartoon network

just wanted to see what you guys think of it:loco:

Oh, if they're bigger than the Beatles, they must be waaaay bigger than Jesus.

I saw the first episode, thought it was painfully unfunny and was never able to catch another episode.

And the animation is pretty bad, looks like something off of Newgrounds... and not even the best stuff on Newgrounds. :(

This cartoon is a deliberate insult to metal, by people who have no affinity with metal. The genres are all stupidly mixed up in it. It makes morons think of metal as some kind of trendy joke, so that they might wear a t shirt from a metal band just as some kind of irony. It is a thinly disguised Trojan horse, in that some people who are into metal might enjoy it and give it undeserved attention. That helps it to do its damage. It should be avoided.

I won't go into the conspiracy. Let's just say that certain forms of metal are seen as threatening to the establishment.

I think you are reading a little to much into it. So let me it explain it, it is a cartoon that provides 15 minutes of entertainment. Nothing more. Christ, what is wrong with you people?

Norsy, (you don't mind if I call you that, do you?) I can't speak for you but, it seems like you take things a bit too seriously. As if you never let your guard down. For me, music is a release. I can listen to a song and it can either bring me back to a happy point in time or help me escape from a current trying time.
The cartoon, which I have not watched, is supposed to be humorous. Even those who are not a fan of metal would not look at this as a historical reference.
How about treating yourself to a nice manual-release?

No, the guy who created it is a huge metal fan and it is not created to make fun of metal or make it look bad.

One thing you have to realize, but considering that thread you started, I can understand why you might not get it. Cartoons are caricatures and are supposed to be very over the top, and they are also meant to be funny. It's a fucking cartoon for christ sakes.

obviously it is a cheesy show...its on cartoon network....but i dont think it insults metal as much as hit parader does
