Thought some of you may enjoy seeing this bit 'o metal :)

Way back when I had hair, and a band, we used to cover Charlie Daniels' "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" - if you haven't heard the original, then you should find and listen to that first. Most of the USA folks should already familiar with it.

Here's the metal version we used to do. I'm the dork singing/playing lead. This is from 1992 I think?

Enjoy!

The audio isn't synced with the video towards the last 2/3 - I'm a noob at video ripping (this came from an old VHS). If anyone uses Pinnacle software PM me with tips! I am going through allll my old band stuff and archiving it to digital.

And Glenn is the idiot in the striped shirt in the pit there at RebelPower? You guys go way back! The quality of the fest has improved immensely since you guys changed formats. And the crowds are bigger now too, but I say - BRING BACK THE YODELING!

Yeah We are bigger... and older...
That was hilarious, love the hats, nice touch.

THAT IS FRICKEN SWEET!
That is one of the most metal songs there is to begin with... but to play it metal-style is something I've ALWAYS wanted to hear.
I came here like 8 months ago looking for pretty much exactly that cover, got pointed to one band that musically pulled it off (from the 60 second clip I got) but vocally KILLED IT. Don't remember what band it was.
Damn would I love to get a hi-fi cover version of that!

Kudos on the song!

Haha - I do have a rip from one of the better sounding gigs somewhere. I'll have to find it and send it to ya! When I come across the better quality video I'll post that as well. Yodelahehooo!

Holy crap dude! Talk about a blast from the past... and the scary thing is, I was quite possibly at that particular battle of the bands, since Nick's was one of my hangouts back in the 90s. Small world ;)
