DEVILDRIVER frontman Dez Fafara revealed in a recent interview that his band will enter the studio in November and December to record "something really special," which he hinted could be an album consisting of country covers. Now, in a brand new chat with Sofa King Cool Magazine, DEVILDRIVER guitarist Mike Spreitzer offered more details about the project, saying (see video below): "The cat's kind of out of the bag on that. It's not exactly a country album. It's not gonna be a country album, but I don't wanna splurge too much; I haven't gotten full permission from management and record labels to really come out with it. But I can can tell you we are gonna do something, and… I mean, we haven't started it yet; not one thing has been done yet. Just ideas in the air." DEVILDRIVER's latest album, "Trust No One", was released in May via Napalm Records. The follow-up to 2013's "Winter Kills" was once again produced by Mark Lewis (ARSIS, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, DEICIDE, SIX FEET UNDER) with assistance from Jason Suecof (AUGUST BURNS RED, DEICIDE, DEATH ANGEL). Spreitzer recently told Metalshop TV about the songwriting process for DEVILDRIVER's latest CD: "With 'Trust No One', I got to basically do almost whatever I wanted within reason. I didn't wanna get too far out there with 'Trust No One', because there was a big lineup change and I didn't wanna throw our fans for a loop, but I think on the next record, I'm gonna take some more chances and mix things up a bit." "Trust No One" entered The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 43 with first-week sales of just over 12,000 units — nearly all from pure album sales. The set follows the No. 32-peaking "Winter Kills", which was released in August 2013 and opened with 11,000 copies.
