No he didnt as far as I know. Al pretty much was there a couple days after Marty decided to leave and there was no question that he was the dude for the job.

I love the playing of Al, Marty and James and in a perfect world Marty would be in Megadeth, heck in a perfect world we would have a Megadeth.
