I get the feeling that this might just be the tip of the iceberg. This isn't the last you've heard from the terrorists in the US, I'm sure of it.

Of course, I'm probably wrong. I wonder if they're going to follow suit in other countries, though - Brisbane is hosting CHOGM next month, so that's going to be fun, and if someone's crashing 747's into buildings at the same time it could get a wee bit ugly!

I hate to say it, but these crazy fucking fanatics could be bringing about *the* END sooner than I imagined.....:bah:

I was watching in amazement at the first "fire", then the second plane hit & everyone at my place looked around & said "well, let's see what else happens now....":OMG:

The next few weeks will certainly be an interesting (if not nervous) time for EVERYONE....

May the force be with you, as they say.......

This is obviously an indication of how life, society and human nature has deteriorated on this Earth.

Every since the Clinton administration, the right-wingers in the US Republican congress have wanted a war... peacetime just doesn't make enough money. For the entire 90's decade, the US ran up a multi-trillion dollar bill with the United Nations... what's the US going to do? Pay a bill for skirmishes administered by the UN, or are they going to start a skirmish themselves and owe nobody anything?

George W. Bush, as soon as he came to power, proceeded to fill key government positions with his people, and also went as far as forming new laws and abolishing boundaries of other laws. For example, during his election campaign last year he announced in his policy speeches he'd remove the barriers for the accumulation of wealth... which gives employers the opportunity to hire workers at just about any pay rate, and he also pledged to have an increased military presence in warzones around the world. This didn't happen after he was elected, Bush went to the polls with these policies.

Twisted? In the eyes of all us civilised democratic people, of course it is. However, over the last decade, governments have worked hard to quash their accountability for such actions... could it be that the US may have been a factor in this attack to form an opportunity to start a full scale war? I doubt it, but it's possible.

Nostradamous predicted that the 'great hand' will reign on the Great City. The book of Revelation states that "one event, shockingly visual, will occur somewhere on this Earth and everyone on the planet will be aware of it all at the same time. The one individual that is behind the event will reveal themselves as the antichrist." Possible? Dunno!

Any Americans on this board? Please tell me I'm wrong (I'm no US political expert). :p

That last bit you wrote is rather disturbing.....Ill bet my balls that Bin Laden nut is behind it, which makes him the antichrist. The sad thing is, I cant find anything wrong that could point to something like that NOT being true. Kinda freaky realising stuff like that.....though im pretty sure WW3 wont happen, its still food for thought!

Though I disagree about america wanting a war, NOONE would incite an attack like what happened deliberately, nor was it deserved. (If thats not what you were trying to say I apologise :) )

maybe i should qualify my comments.

I don't get caught up too much in world politics, possibly ignorance is bliss at times.
Then again I am an aussie (A fkn proud one) and live in a cool country.
but when innocent people are killed (be it any race or religeon) if pisses me off.

People just turned up to work and ended up dead. I don't care if their black white or whatever.

Stevo has a good point about the decline of our world and the way things seem to be turning out.
The tibetan people lived for 3000 years without one single revolution or revolt. Makes you ask some questions
"please no religeous debates - i don't understand it enough"

I just hope that some understanding can happen to stop this shit.

But i tell ya one thing - if your only way to get your point across is to do what those
people did by slaughtering over 10,000 innocent people.

then you should fkn die and slowly.

I believe an lots of things but I'll always reckon the human will and spirit will rise above all.

I knew when I came on here this evening I would find people drawing parallels with yesterdays events and the Bible (or worse, Nostradamus!). I didn't expect it would be Stevo!

But it is kind of ironic, as the whole tragedy is linked to religion. If only the rest of the world could share my faith in humanism. No gods, just the love and respect of mankind for itself and everything around it.

Imagine there's no heaven
It isn't hard to do
No hell below us
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living in peace.

At the risk of trivialising anything you said, or the situation (which isnt my intent) I love the fact that someone with the name Goreripper came up with that post :)

My belief in human goodness has been crumbling for while now  and this terrorist crap has hit me so hard you'd think I was standing next to the towers when they crumbled.

Am I truelly foolish to believe there are still good people out there? Is it time to reliquish my glass half full attitude and now look for the bad in people instead of the good?

How did you see the human kind and have your beliefs now crumbled with the World Trade Towers?

to quote the great Dave Mustaine_

Brother will kill brother
Spilling blood across the land
Killing for religion
Something I don't understand
Fools like me, who cross the sea
And come to foreign lands
Ask the sheep, for their beliefs
Do you kill on God's command?

A country that's divided
Surely will not stand
My past erased, no more disgrace
No foolish naive stand

The end is near, it's crystal clear
Part of the master plan
Don't look now to Israel
It might be your homelands

Holy wars

TERRORISTS oR arabs like bin laden do not know the meaning of

... and that's EXACTLY what governments would like you to think. How can we make an event so unbelievable that nobody in their right mind would question it? Look at the Kennedy assasination.

Ever since the Bush administration came to power, he's done nothing but pass cutbacks on the majority of government spending (including welfare) -- this is what conservative parties do. He has also driven prices higher for essential services, and because of that, his popularity rating has turned to shit! (I wouldn't think he'd give a stuff being in power less than 12mths, but who the hell knows?). War will always turn an unpopular President into a popular one.

Wait and see what the approval rating is for John Howard when he returns to Australia -- he did say all those BIG words (bastardry, terror, apalling, weak, gutless, etc.) Voting constituents call it 'leadership', and that's what the political parties try to portray.

I'm not saying the CIA would be behind this, but it IS possible.

Mate... being the new bloke in the band, you'll learn that I take no prisoners. :heh:

This is EXACTLY what political parties want... uninformed political attitudes. Why do you think Howard called his last election during the sporting month of September 1998... because the majority of people didn't give a shit about anything else but sport at THAT point in time.

As long as Aussies have sport, BBQs and piss... they can be manipulated into doing and thinking anything.

It's deadly important that the Australian population be politically aware in ALL facets of government policy... albeit the people on more than $50k/yr. You only have to look at the level of fulltime employment and how much it's turning into the parttime/casual factor... only because it's cheaper to hire people (but, that's only 1 example).

But of course you didn't. Nobody would! :D

To understand life, you must understand attitudes. Attitudes are drawn from beliefs. Beliefs are drawn from religion (don't you EVER steal those words for a song, LT! HAHA!!!). YOU, of all people Goreripper, I would have thought would understand.

I believe you've read the bible as well, mate (I think I remember you telling me you had -- I might have been pissed at the time). Just as the Islamic religion is as twisted as it is, so is the Satanic word, so is the Christian word (just look at the Mormons).

However, more things stated in the book of Revelation have occured as compared to any other religion. True Islam FORBIDS suicide, as does Anton's teachings.

However, what bothers me is that Indonesia (2hrs North of us) are now THE BIGGEST Islamic state on this planet... also, Indonesia possesses the 4th largest ground army on this planet! You think the Middle East is bad... wait until the Indos decide to pick off our Aussie capitals and power stations.

I'm ready to fight! Anyone else?
