Sorry if this came up before, but after searching lots I can't find any info on the gear the DEP guys use in studio and live, mainly pedals/effects etc - just curious that's all. As far as I know they use Esp's and Mesa's recs live. Any ideas??

their live rig seems to cahnge every five minutes....
been a huge fan for years. seem them more time than i care to remember....
ive seen......

dual recs,
dsl100s
5150s
and stilettos for amps...
mesa, orange, marshall and vht for cabs,
and esp and a really pink ibanez for guitars..

G&l bass, and some svt rig

Ben has almost always tracked with ESP guitars. Usually some 400 or 1000 series, don't think I've ever seen him with a standard. Calculating Infinity is all Dual Rectifier, while Miss Machine had some Dual Rec with Bogner and Marshall blends.

I think there was a DVD that came with Miss Machine that showed the amp choices from the control room. I'll have to dig mine out to double check. Ire Works still sounds like a Dual Rec/Bogner blend, but I haven't read to much on the recording of this album with the exception of him using Drumkit from Hell at first before they got Gil.

Every time I've seen them live it's been Rectifiers...Triples I believe on the Red Channel. Everything I've read and seen about their recordings seems to point to Rectifier/Uberschall combinations.

Looking at some pictures from a distance, it looks like Ben has quite a big pedal board.. was never able to find what it consists off.. very interesting about the amps...
I was looking at the making of Mastodon's Blood Mountain, and they had a number of amps including Orange (rockerverb??), Mesa Stilettos, Marshalls (JCM 800 and some vintage ones) of course! I wonder if Mastodon ever used Rectifiers. They don't have much gain yet their guitar sound is so damn heavy!
