Well finally I managed to develop the film (I guess I'm going to switch to a digital camera after all) and here are the highlights of the Dio concert.

Here's the light proofing before the show and opening act Trauma

More of Trauma and the audience (looks a lot but was a lousy attendance)

The audience with Dio + Ronnie, Warren and half a bass player

Warren, Rudy and more Rudy and the smokin bass

Craig and Dio shining

Dio and Craig + Craig with Dio and Rudy on the back

Dio and the guys holding a banner someone throw at them plus a Costa Rican flag with a message for Dio . This part was very emotive for me, not only the fact that he won the crowd by holding the rags but also the fact that he took the time and moment to address the crowd, move the audience and behave like a gentleman. Many bands will had just kick the rag or simply ignore it.

Dio and Warren + Simon during the drum solo

Craig shredding like a master. I have heard many versions of 'Heaven And Hell' and never anything remotely like the original, but this guy made the best I have heard, very close to Iommi's work and that is a hat off from me.

And finally (the show off) from left to right: yours truly, Darren (my friend the promoter looking ad giddy as everyday), Dinia (my groupie
Stoned_anim.gif
) and Ana María (specialized reporter for music shows from the biggest newspaper in the country, she made a wonderful front page article of Dio in the entertainment section the day of the concert, unbelievable for this country as a matter of fact, here's the digital version in Spanish of course http://nacion.com/viva/2006/julio/22/espectaculos0.html).

Got some great pics, Wyv! Looks like you had a blast. And that banner was way cool. Did Dio actually keep it? Looks like it was very well done; front cover of Holy Diver!

I really don't know  , I hope they did.

What kind was the song list.

Damn if I remember now but more or less:

'Children Of The Sea'
'I Speed At Night'
'Holy Diver'
'Rainbow In The Dark'
'Man On The Silver Mountain'
'Sunset Superman'
Catch The Rainbow/Long Live Rock'N'Roll (medley)
'All The Fools Sailed Away'
'I'
'Heaven And Hell'
'We Rock'
'Last In Line' (encore)

NP: Deep Purple - 'Clearly Quite Absurd'

Great pics! :kickass: I've seen Dio take an interest in fan banners fairly often -- when I've seen him and on taped shows. I think he really enjoys and appreciates the fans.

That Trauma, is that the US band were Cliff Burton used to play in ??

They wish!

No it's a local band. The scene here is very much stall, few bands, poor fan reception, zero labels and a shrunk market. Still Darren (the promoter) has been very good choosing bands to open for the last three gigs (the law actually force that any non-cultural foreign show have to have a local artist opening) so Slavon, Acero and Trauma got their time opening for Helloween, Tierra Santa and Dio.

The joke is that no one wants to open for Motorhead (if they come) because no one wants to work that day and just enjoy the show :p...and no band here can open for such a kick ass band either.

Nice to see those pics. Don't mind that banner either;)
I dont know if any of you are into the Australian band Raven Black Night but I'm presently trying to convince them to cover We Rock!
