what can I say but rest in peace Ronnie. This is the first time since Chuck Schuldiner died when I´ve felt honestly sad about a death of a celebrity. Heavy metal has lost one of it´s greatest artists.

"To make himself look good." is a stupid statement. If I wanted to make myself "look good", I'd go along with everyone that masturbates all over everything that Dimebag ever recorded like all of the "bandwagon" Dime fans that appeared. I don't have anything against the people that have ALWAYS said that Dime is a favorite guitarist of theirs. I have issues with the people that came out of nowhere and started claiming that he's their favorite guitarist, just because he died. Pantera was one of the first metal bands I listened to, and even then, there weren't any aspects of the band that stood out to me.
If you have a problem with me, send me a PM. I'm not afraid to voice my opinions, and I won't stop doing it just because someone gets butthurt by something that I say.
With that being said, I'd just like to point out that this thread is about DIO, a duplicate thread or not. Take your petty bullshit out of the thread and in to either a different thread or in to a PM.

Well, if Will can make a special statement about Dimebag then I can too.
Well...Dimebag actually was a pretty good guitarist so I don't blame people. Look at some random video of him soloing onstage in 1988. Very clean, alot of feel...which alot of guitarists lack compared to attentiveness to each note. This is just my opinion, but I think if Pantera never existed, Nevermore wouldn't have as crushingly heavy riffs. You don't have to like a band to be influenced alot by them. I know Sanctuary had alot of badass riffs too, I agree, their records still remind of Cowboys from Hell a bit to this day.
I do agree with the bandwagoners...there's nothing false about that statement. As far as I'm concerned...until Dimebag died, it was almost laughable for people amongst regular knowledgable extreme metal lovers to say they love Pantera...People would get all pissed off "wut??@ you don't like Satyricon better?!?! or Heathen??@! boo boo boo" and cry and shit.

the best way for people to honor Dio at the service would be to totally shut out and ignore any turdgobblers from WBC in attendance. Let them talk their shit - they just don't understand.
