This is from late ,08 but it's the first I've heard about it. I can't WAIT to read this!!!!!

From Classic Rock Magazine:

Ronnie James Dio is at work on an autobiography that, true to form for one of rock n roll’s more enigmatic characters, will ‘not be centred around myself so much as me telling my life story through the stories of those around me’.

Speaking exclusively to Classic Rock, Dio explained that he’s fitting the writing around a hectic schedule with Heaven And Hell, who release a new album, The Devil You Know, through Roadrunner later this month.

“Every time I feel I’m getting halfway there, another halfway comes along,” he says. “But yes, I’m writing it and it’s certainly going to be very, very interesting for people interested in the bands I’ve been in and the people I’ve played with.
‘You have to have a focal point, and I guess that had to be me. It’s an autobiography, but within it, I tell the stories that somehow explain a little bit what Ritchie [Blackmore]’s like or Tony [Iommi]’s like or Geezer [Butler]’s like. I don’t analyse them, but just in telling the tales I paint everyone in as good a light as possible. It’s not a tell-all book.”

Don’t expect The Dirt, then, but as Dio explains, endless drugs and groupies aren’t everyone’s scene. “I’ve tried to live my life on a very straight path,’ he says. ‘I’m not Nikki Sixx or people who go over the edge. That’s alluring to a lot of people, but I’m sure being a little bit different is alluring to some other people, too.”

Dio aims to have the as yet untitled book out at some point next year.

What?? Dio never drunk?? hahaha ! you must be kidding !!
well.. I think i should get this book somehow (coz I'm sure i won't find it here euuuh), It's gonna be really interesting to know about the rock n roll lifestyle from such perspective !! Anyone else has ever written an autobiography in metal/rock scene??

I don't think he's saying that he's never been drunk, or anything like that....just that he's never taken that whole "rock and roll lifestyle" of excess to the edge like some people in the business have done. Everything in moderation, as they say. Personally, I can't wait to read this book. Dio has always been something of a hero of mine, and there's no question the guy has a talent for writing (If he can write a book as well as he can write lyrics, this is going to be a great read). I'm looking forward to hearing him talk about his years in Rainbow and Sabbath. And although he says he's going to take the high road when talking about the people he's worked with...it will be interesting to see how he approaches the subject of Vivian Campbell. Hmmmm... :-)

Hexwind...one autobiography that I really liked was the one by Anthony Keidis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I'm not a huge RHCP fan, but it was a pretty fascinating book (More because of his honest talk about his battles with drug addiction over the years than anything else, really. How that guy made it through it alive is beyond me). That's really the only one I can think of offhand that I've really enjoyed. Slash has one out but I haven't read it. There are certainly some people who I wish would write one....if Jimmy Page were to write an autobiography, that would be one (Like the Dio book) that I would buy sight unseen. I'd love for that to happen.

Edit: I just remembered that Rudy Sarzo also wrote an autobiography about the time he played with Randy Rhoads. Haven't read that one, so I can't say as to whether it's good or not. But it certainly sounded interesting.
