Yawn. Seven Witches tours awith the same frequency as Into Eternity and Beyond the Embrace. And Dismember I could care less about. This festival, since its superb debut, has failed to rise above mediocre. Shame.

Seven Witches actually don't tour all THAT much these days.
I lost interest once Rivera left.
They were good live with him.
I never heard the new album with the new singer.
The constant line-up change of that band has made me lost interest.
It is a shame since through the course of 7W, there have been some amazing musicians, like Bobby Lucas, Wade Black, Joey Vera, James Rivera, etc.

Hmmm...weird. I just found out Dismember is coming here to a small... hmmm venue nearby so I would not fly to Canada to catch them though I do like them. I was thinking of going to this fest but could not afford anyways so I am kind of glad they have not announced anyone else that is just killing me. With the two starting bands being two of my faves, i was really wanting to go.

I'm a fan of the show, but that was NOT the announcement to make at #3. Montreal is 10 hours away from me and those 2 will not make me drive 10 hours.

That's the problem with this bill; all these bands are touring. Dismember, Grave, Helloween, Testament and Kingdom Come are all playing NY/NJ during October and Seven Witches just played NYC earlier this year.

Is the apparent goal of the promoter, to avoid paying any travel related costs for bands appearing at the festival.

Well, Testament have not been here in about 7 or 8 years or anywhere near here besides Florida's sun n steel... and Helloween it has been about 3 or 4 years. So those are the two i was referring to, the rest I will see....

Or its the theme of 'sure they are touring, but not necessarily the same spots, so if you want pay one price, spend one weekend, catch them all, here you go'

Personally, I was hoping for a stranger lineup, one that would bring in some special shows. Don't think I'll be going anymore. Heathen Crusade gets me more excited than this.

I love Heathen...I have seen mention and photos of the crusade on the board in the past...sounds like a blast... when is it?

I had thought about going up to Jaxx for the 2 Testament shows that got cancelled. Other than them, no one yet announced would even make me give this fest a passing thought. Had hoped that they might get a Gigantour slot...oh well.

To my mind, if you're doing a weekend long Metal festival in Montreal, which is five short hours drive from the biggest city on the planet, you should do something to try to draw from that massive market. Booking six bands that ALL will be within a stones throw of the NY/NJ market is just bad business.

Agree completely. Heathen Crusade was awesome last year and I'll be returning in '07 as well.

In case anyone isn't aware, they've already announced three bands for '07, but have yet to announce the headliner. See link above.

Thanks for the info Zod... :) I will look into it.
Look forward to seeing you and your lovely wife at PP.
Right back atcha. And hopefully we'll see you in Minnesota in January (a lovely place to visit in January). You'd have a blast. Think ProgPower, just more evil.

I love the idea. Will look into attending as well! Plus, I'd love to visit MN.

Evil is good... :)
Never been to Minneapolis.. that is a tough month after the holidays but I will see what I can do. Sounds like fun.
