But man... 80 people is big??? WTF! Is the metal scene around your parts THAT bad??? I used to have a cover band and the smallest attendance we've had was 230 ... our largest was 416 ... I thought we had it bad here

yeah, the scene here sucks big time. nothing around but bars that only let people 21 years old play, and even then, no chances of a band like mine to do local support for a tour

i wouldn't say it sucks at all, its just not made for the under 18 crowd. lately i've seen lots of places to play created from bars, which sux for younger audience, but there is a good scene. then again i'm talking NYC, and ur more the philly area. but i'm sure its the same thing. besides, i'm sure you can open for bands at say, bloomfield, and other crapholes, but you gotta start somewhere.

well, the Philly scene is totally different from the NYC/North Jersey scene. You have venues everywhere up there, we have a 21+ bar called The Pirate's Den. Philly is all bars. We have firehalls down here, but renting a firehall that holds 100 people gets old, which is why the only times we got to play in an actual concert venue with a stage is up in north jersey, at that bar in Gloucester City (that we cant play anymore), and the ONLY all-ages Club in the Philadelphia area... which closed up.
