SEETHER has recruited DISTURBED, VOLBEAT, ALTER BRIDGE and others for the lineup of the fourth annual Rise Above Fest, which will take place on August 6 at Darling's Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, Maine. As with the past three editions, the event aims to raise money and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention and takes its name from SEETHER's song "Rise Above This". Frontman Shaun Morgan wrote the tune for his younger brother Eugene eight years ago, before Eugene committed suicide. According to The Pulse Of Radio, SEETHER bassist Dale Stewart said that the band has been encouraged by the response from both artists and fans to the annual event. "Each time we've done it, it's been just a little bit bigger than the one before and we've managed to raise a little bit more money, so I definitely think we're on a good sort of trajectory with it," he said. "It also helps a lot that a lot of guys are very behind the cause and, you know, want to come and play and help out and get some money for this charity. So it's been just a good sort of team effort kind of thing." The Rise Above Fest will raise money for SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education), one of the leading national not-for profit organizations dedicated to raising awareness and educating the public about mental health and suicide prevention in order to save lives. "The Rise Above Fest has become the musical voice for our nation that mental health and suicide prevention are important to everyone," said Dr. Dan Reidenberg, executive director of SAVE. "SAVE is grateful to SEETHER's inspiration to make a difference in the world and to all of the bands who are helping spread the message that for those struggling with emotional pain and suicidal thoughts, you too can rise above this." For his outstanding work as a suicide prevention advocate, it has just been announced that Shaun Morgan will be receiving the "Artistic Expression" Award from the National Council for Behavioral Health at next month's Awards of Excellence in Las Vegas. Morgan was nominated among over 1000 other advocates and is honored to be included.
