Usually UV22HR... There are long discussions out there about the "right dither"... Well... I did truckloads of albums & mastering etc, I would say that it makes not *that* difference to me in a already highly distorted, noisy metal-context. As long as you use a dither as well as if you avoid re-dithering down the road I would say every quality dither is ok...
In Pro Tools the way I dither is I set up a stereo aux track and a stereo audio track. I send everything through the aux track with dither plugin on in the last insert slot and set the input of my stereo track as the output of the aux track and I then record onto the stereo track.
