412cab.jpg

Dimensions:
Width 75cm, height, 80cm and 36cm deep.
Speakers will be 2*greenbacks, 1*V60 and 1*V30

Yeah, actually, and rather noticeably - I've found front-mounted sounds better for live, because it's tighter and is more prominent in the mids, but that also gives it something of a boxy sound that can get annoying when mic'ing up. Still, people here have gotten good results using the Engl PRO 4x12 cab, which has front-mounted V30s, but then again, Mesa and Marshall (arguably the two most used cab brands) are all rear-mounted these days (only the really old Mesas and small current ones were/are front-mounted). If you're planning on using this a lot for recording, I'd go rear-mounted if I were you.

Oh shit!
It's too late for rear-mounting. I have back side of the cabinet glued tightly in place. :(

Here is pictures from my engl standard cabinet:

I took those pics when i removed V60-speakers and replaced them with V30.

Should I attach that foam thing inside my diy-cabinet?

Yeah, the foam is another toughy, cuz my experience with cabs that have foam on the inside is that they can be a bit on the "sterile" side (Mesa doesn't use foam, and I'm pretty sure Marshall doesn't either). That part at least seems easy enough to experiment with, so I'd try both! (although with the back glued on, how would you get the foam in, through the holes for the speakers?)

hey dudes whats this of rear mounted or front mounted speakers ? im going to build soon a 4x12 an a 2x15 cabinets and i wish to know more bout how to build a good cab..

Front-mounted dude. Does it sound different than rear-mounted cabs?

i would really like to have a step by step guide to upgrade cabinet speakers. I have a Smarvo cabinet, the speaker sucks! i wanna change it with v30s speakers. i dont think simply changing it without any guidance will work :goggly:

those who have done dis, can u share pls

Well if by "dis" you mean "this," then yes, I have done it, as have many others - it's really incredibly easy, you unscrew the old one, unplug TWO WIRES, put in the new one, connect the same TWO WIRES, and you're done. :)
