Was pretty fricking great. Violent and funny as hell in places. Tarantino is amazing when he hits the mark. Every show was sold out Christmas day so I guess people were done with the happy happy crap and wanted to see blood, they got it in spades.
there should be an ensemble award for the oscars... it was that good but
Leo earned this one he was so good as the plantation owning bigot... had to be be hard to play that role but you don't turn down Tarantino
saw it last night and it was quite enjoyable, definitely agree about the supporting cast. I found a lot of those characters more compelling than the main characters/story but the main dudes came through with the ludicrous bloodshed. seemed a little long, but sometimes his films do on first viewing. it'll take a few more viewings to decide where it ranks among his others, as they usually improve for me.
Finally got to see this last night. It was about as good as I expected it to be, although I found the soundtrack strangely offputting. I normally like whatever is in most Tarantino movies, but the soundtrack for this just sounded like it was way too forced, trying too hard to make it work. I didn't really have a problem with any particular track either, only that often one would make a scene seem more like a cheap music video than anything else.
i agree on the music being a bit weaker this time around, i think he used a lot more soundtrack songs from other movies than he usually does. i do really want to see the original Django western now though.
