Good question,
When Erik is doing his lyrics to the music, there is alot of down time for the band. For instance Mikey, Troy and myself tracked Towers in 4 days. We got the goods to Erik and he does his thing for awhile and does a great job. I just feel during that down-time i'm being lazy, so I need to do something musical. So I ended up doing Night's Pulse!!!! As you might know, Night's Pulse was all finished before the Towers disc. On this new one, the music has been written for 8 months now. We figured during this time Mikey, Troy and myself would do our Tech-Death-Metal band Death Machine. We were approached by our friend Kirk (The singer of DM) and he wanted us to form a band of this sort. We heard what he can do and does an awesome job with that style. So we went to work and wrote, recorded and mastered the DM material. We did all this before getting ZH in the studio. At this point, Erik is almost finished with the lyrics now and we are really excited to get into the studio. We'll be getting in March 7th and 8th for ZH and the music should be done . Erik doesn't have the lyrics done to 2 of the tunes but he's getting close enough where we can track. The concept Erik came up with is great and I look foward to hearing it myself. DM doesn't conflict with ZH at all and when the downtime is there, DM could do its thing. I hope this answers it my brotha and thanks for the question.
