Do there exist any metal bands that....

I don't know about Balkan horns...that just sounded like a regular ska band (sax, trumpet, trombone, etc...) unless if there was a part I missed.

now, if you're interested in metal bands that do incorporate standard hornfare, that we can assist you with

It's not about the types of instruments it's the way they're played. I dunno if it's a different scale or what, but Balkan brass has it's own completely unique feel that other bands using the same instruments don't.

Finntroll has a similar jumpy rhythm in some of their music due to the polka influence. That's the closest thing I can think of.

Alamaailman Vasarat. Sick stuff, but probably in the neighbourhood of what you're looking for. Notice that the riffs are done on cello, not guitar.

And if you're into balkan music in general, I guess you already know Gogol Bordello. You should also check out Farmers Market, with Stian Carstensen, probably Norway's most prominent modern musician. The guy on the accordian here, but also an insane guitarist.

Alamaailman Vasarat is awesome, and yeah some of their songs are definitely in the ball park of what I'm looking for, thanks!

nope, this is a serious request.

Like this, but minus the surf rock and plus death metal (or other variants of metal).

interesting, kinda catchy, sorta liked it in a weird kinda way. I actually would love to here a metal band mix that in, i think i'd be kinda good, if they do correctly. finntroll mixes folk music in with the death/black metal and they do it great
