Do you have any opinion about Mindprint preamps?

Haven't used it myself but a guy from my town has the envoice and the 2 chan in his studio. pretty sure they're good or he would have bought something else. kinda lot of useful features on those units.

I've used the DTC a lot and it's quite transparent. Mostly used it on overheads because it's 2-channel and it did the job. It's not the most exciting piece of gear, especcially when you compare it to other products in that same pricerange

The DTC is too expensive...I was interested in the general opinion about these preamps because I can get the Envoice for about 250€.
I think I'll stay on my original idea....golden age pre 73

A good mate of mine picked up the envoice used for a little over 100 euro. He says he doesn't like the pre but the comp and saturation are nice. I've not got to use it myself though. The digital in/out is very handy.

i've got one :)
first i would say that 250 euro is litte too much for this unit.
second, this is the budget preamp from envoice while DTC is whole different story...
regarding the unit i would say that preamp is actually OK, clean and transparent. also EQ and comp do the job.
one thing i find very strange is tube saturation circuit within comp. it behaves very strange and quickly goes into unpleasant distortion... and why would it be within comp and not preamp ?
overall I managed to get a good use of preamp for tracking certain parts of drums like floor tom, room mic, china...
and during mixing i used it for vocal saturation with combination of EQ, comp and tube circuit. i would not use EQ, comp and tube for tracking ever.
hope this helps
