I'd be horrified to live in an area where the metal "community" were like my family and arguing until someone is in tears about whether or not apples should be in the Thanksgiving stuffing. That said, I don't think people should go out of their way to be cold or bad to one another in any situation but I wouldn't expect extreme warmth just by being around metal people. That would kind of creep me out, introvert that I am.
