Does anyone in this forum have telescope?
(and use it sometimes...)
I have 114/1000 mirror telescope,it`s not very good but....
I usually watch moon and planets.
I also take som pictures from the starsky and if you wonder what my name "väinämöisen viikate" means,it is "orion`s belt"...
and there is it --> http://kellari.org/~vare/tt14.html

More (crap) photos you find -->www.vare.cjb.net

Sorry my very bad english, anyone understand? :erk:
What you expect,i`m finnish :loco:

Your english is fine! I have a telescope as well, although I'm afraid I don't know how to use it very well. I'm amazed with astronomy and spend whatever free time I have outside staring at the stars.

Those are some nice pictures, better than anything I've taken so far. I've been interested in astronomy since I was four years old and I have a 130mm telescope but I haven't been using it as much as I'd like to.

And yes, your English is just fine, it's better than my Finnish; I can only count to three. :erk:

Thanks your comments!
Btw tomorrow(?)or someday there will be new site design, check out.
Sites language will be english (oh no,my bad english :ill: )
If you find some wrong translate, please inform.

I've noticed lately that Finnish amateurs are getting a lot of attention in the major astronomy magazines here in the US; do you know if it recently started getting big or are we just hearing about it now?

i think that its starting to get big nowadays. At space there are som electronic machines(?) wich are made in finland. In finland there are many little observatorions and many astronomy amateurs.
i cant tell more because my bad english :erk:

btw,now there is new layout in my site...

there is a observatory in my school but i dont live in finland... and i think it is almost useless cause there are always clouds in the sky :D

observatory in school? wow. didn't know there was something like that in d'dorf, certainly not in school!

sure. and nearby there is a small (very small) museum about astronomy and i think they have a telescope, too.
my school once owned 3 telescopes but now there is only one left because they then were stationed somewhere else and not in my school. But they needed the place where they were for this euroga (european garden thingy) and so one of the telescopes moved to our school.

TAKE PHOTOS? Or you mean, just watching it? Can you post the photos here then for us to see, if you mean real photos? Or is it only from far away (like in the picture where you posted the link above)? Sorry for asking... I never used a telescope or something like that! :Smug:
