Did a search but found nothing, i remember a guy here (LosingReality i think) bought a 5150 combo and turned it into a head with awesome results. im very tempted to buy a Tremoverb Dual Rectifier 2x12 combo at a very nice price, but i want to be able to use it as a head sometimes, but im afraid that it will not sound the same as the head version (I guess it should isn´t?).

Sorry if this sound dumb, but i really wanna be sure im doing a good investment, cause im selling stuff i also love to getting it hehe.

When an amp comes in combo and head form, the combo is generally the same preamp/poweramp that comes in the head, but mounted in the cabinet with the speaker. So normally (and I'm sure there are probably exceptions) the combo should sound pretty much the same as the head if plugged into an external speaker cab. I've found this to be the case with a few amps such as the Orange AD30 and the Mesa Mark IV - if they WERE different, it wasn't enough for me to notice.

Awesome!!! Thanks Cory, i also was thinking if it is indeed different, maybe be not enough to notice. so i guess this is enough to convince me hehe.

I have a 6505+ head and our 2nd guitarist has the combo plugged in a 4x12" cab and i have to say it's quite similiar in terms of sound.

Technically should be the same - but check transformers, tubes etc. there maybe slight differences there.

Thanks a lot guys!!! just the motivation i needed for not feel bad about selling some stuff hahah. Cheers!!
