DOKKEN in Birmingham...

I had never seen Sebastian Bach live and this was one of the most amazing live experiences for me. Even though it seemed to me like the sound guy(s)/Lakewood couldn't lock in a good mix for Bach until a little over half way through it was energetic and amazing. Enjoyed every second of it.

After Bach's performance, Dokken did nothing for me. The guitarist came across sloppy as mess and the whole band wasn't too energetic at all. The bassist was awesome, and had an incredible voice.

I mostly thought the Poison show as a carbon copy of last year's show with the small addition of added show in C.C.'s and Rocket's solos. The ghetto box set up was awesome to watch. Overall, despite the fact that it was very much the same as last year's performance I still enjoyed the hell out of it. Don't fix it if it isn't broke right?

Definitely Bach was a great show in bham. i had an interview with him before the show and talking to him later he said 'hey bud, i saw you up in front of the sound board' it's always cool when the guys recognize you in the crowd.
True Dokken could have been a lot better, but they still played all the favorites.
I totally skipped the Poison gig to interview Bobby J. from Bach's band....
Overall, a pretty good show i think. But then again i didnt pay for it...

"Whether you love outdoor rock concerts in the middle of summer or you just can't get enough of VH1's Rock of Love with Bret Michaels, you can have "Nothin' But a Good Time" this weekend when you go see Poison for just $3.79 a ticket. That's right, less than $5 to see a band with hits like "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and "Fallen Angel" -- and that's for seats in the Second Pavilion section, not lawn tickets like you might expect for a low price like this.
This deal could disappear at any time, so get your seats now. After you have your tickets, grab your stonewashed jeans, head to the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park and get ready to rock.
Go to http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/04004084D7B83DD1 for tickets and more information. Select the number of seats and the use the pull-down menu to find the $3.79 price. Note: Though the price of the ticket is low, convenience fees still apply and are an additional $9.15."

Interesting... I didn't think Bas sounded very good at all. Granted, the sound was awful, but I was really annoyed by his "Vince Neil" impression... i.e., he was singing about 2 of every 3 words. Was that the sound cutting out? I couldn't actually see him from the lawn to tell if his lips were moving.

I thought Dokken was decent, but sort of going through the motions. Thought Don sounded great though. Poison was good. I've only seen them once before, so apparently that's how to keep it fresh--go see 'em once every 9 years. :D
