Thanks to Duvall and that "Most Beautiful Song" thread, I've discovered this amazing guitarist. First of all, good call Duvall! I always love it when I find "hidden gem" artists by scouring message boards. I've only heard a few samples at the time of this posting, but they blew me away! It really does sound like he has three hands :)

Do you know if his albums are rare/hard to find? 'Cuz I feel it's my duty as a devoted follower of music to buy his CDs.

Man... you know you don't have a life when finding a new artist is the highlight of your week :)

Trev: no problem! A classmate of mine introduced me to him this year. He has about 7 albums out, under several different labels. His old stuff isn't as active or funky-sounding, but it's impressive nonetheless. He lived, or still lives in the Toronto area, and plays a lot of shows around there. I was lucky enough to see him live in late July here in Halifax, really small, intimate venue, but downright awful for photography...but anyway. He's really nice, very intelligent and funny..and quite imposing!

His latest album is "Huron Street" and it's got a lot of his older stuff re-recorded with his new guitars and a digital 2-track (that's all you need ;).. but to date, the "Narada" album (Masters of the Acoustic Guitar - Don Ross, Passion Sessions) is my favourite. Any respectable HMV should have him in the Folk/Celtic/EastCoast section (which is big here in Halifax..)

Interesting fact is that he's won the US National Fingerstyle Championship twice, and no one else has. I've listened to the stuff other winners have done, and I don't find it half as impressive, emotional or intriguing.

For more information than I can spit out...

www.gobyfish.com is his website. You can even buy transcriptions or tab-books if you feel daring! He'll even teach private lessons that probably cost you an arm and a leg..

But I've rambled enough. EVERYONE CHECK THIS GUY OUT.

He's phenomenal.
