Doom metal mix

wow.. everything is sounding perfect to me.... this production is so huuge sounding... kinda reminds me of my dying bride's the dreadful hours in the guitars...

Thanks.
The left guitar is a mex strat believe it or not!
These were a great band to record.
Should be doing an album with them this summer.

Fuck it sounds big and mean :D Pretty harsh and dirty, but I like it! Seems to fit the style... although, I don't listen to doom metal so I'm not sure what a typical doom metal sound is like but still. The snare could use a little more attack or is that wrong in this genre? It is very buried on many of the hits.

I don't listen to much doom stuff either. I just went with what I thought sounded good. We tracked and mixed the song in one day so my ears were a bit off by mix time. I will have another look at it during the week to check the snare level with fresh ears. I think the vox may be a little low too.

Yeah sounds cool!
Maybe guitars have a bit to much top end, or Cymbals are up to high, i dunno, there is something in the highend bugging me..
But thats also due to the music.. i'm used to a huge roomsound for the drums were in the cymbals kinda get buried/distant most of the time hehe

Edit: yeah my guess is a taaadd too much cymbals.. sounds like old gorefest btw!!
Edit2: on my normal studio monitors it doesn't bother me as much btw... but on smaller speakers the difference was pretty big with other productions... check it out maybe :)

well it doesn´t sound VERY doom to me (guess i was expecting something else), but i liked the song pretty much:kickass:...don´t know why but i keep humming god of emptiness
