Doomcifer, do you have any opinions on the following doom/stoner bands:

Lair of the Minotaur
The Hidden Hand
Goatsnake
Alabama Thunderpussy

All that stuff is pretty good. Haven't heard LotM for myself, but heard great things.

The Hidden Hand--Heard the new album. Good stuff
Goatsnake--Great early band from the genre. Just reissued their first album. Trampled Under Hoof (Killer name!) is good too.
Alabama Thunderpussy--Their new one, Fulton Hill is really good.

Also, Beaten Back to Pure have a new one coming out that really kicks ass. These guys are like...Molly Hatchet southern.

The Hidden Hand is pretty good. Wino is the man so it is gonna rock no matter what. I don't find myself listening to them too much though.

Goatsnake RULE. HEAVY & GROOVY.

Alabama Thunderpussy are okay I guess. I don't really get into them but they are hailed as one of the better stoner bands out there.

Lair of The Minotaur...I haven't heard much from them other than the track that FOTMBM posted in his thread about the band a few weeks back. It was pretty good from what I remember. Nothing spectacular. Do a search for the band's name in this forum or go back a few pages and check out the thread which has the link to the song. It's about 17 minutes if my memory serves me correctly.

Alas, there are MUCH better bands out there than these four imho. Well, Goatsnake rules but moreso directed at the other three.

Actually, other than Alabama T., we've had threads on all these bands. The Hidden Hand thread was only posted yesterday I think.

@Doomcifer - have you heard the new Hidden Hand album? Holy shit man, I think it rules!

Nope. I'm slacking, lol. I've seen the new one in the store every time I drop in. Isn't it an EP? The first few songs on Divine Propaganda rule.

Not yet dude. Is it better than their previous outputs?
I haven't heard any of their other stuff. But based on this, I'll be checking it out.

Do you have any other doom recommendations?

Guys - you like Beaten Back to Pure? I got this promo in for "The Burning South" and I thought it was godawful. What kind of music is that shit?

The new Hidden Hand album isn't out yet (on non-MP3 format). Do they even have an EP? Did you even read the goddamn thread you dirty gook?

The 2nd presidential debate is tonight?! WTF?! You can tell that I dont watch too much television or read the paper. I guess I will have to tune in again. *aack*

Yeah, I am pretty fucking certain that Hidden Hand has put out an EP this year but from what I gathered it was older shit. I cannot be too sure though I suppose. I just know that it's an EP. lol

As for the thread...yeah, I read it one late drunk night I think. I dont remember....again.

And Beaten Back to Pure...Naa, it is not my desired cup of tea. I was wondering if the last is different at all. *shrug*

I saw Alabama Thunderpussy performing live here, last Tuesday. The guys ROCKED like madmen. They were AWESOME, very LOUD hard rock music with amazing energy. I cannot call them "stoner", they are more than that.

Jebus what a list. Ive only heard of half of them, and listened to a 1/4.

I had a dream today, while listening to the wonderous tones of Crowbar, I thought damn wouldnt it be great if Zakk Wylde laid down some solos for Crowbar? Just a dream.
